Buying Through Auto Auction Timeline of Events

This is a timeline of events of a recent car purchase for a customer. I wanted to put it into a blog, so you can read how the entire process works.


3:00pm 12/7 - Lead comes in from Vehicle Request form

3:30pm 12/7 - Welcome letter with Customers Search Criteria emailed

4:00pm 12/7 - Customer Calls and confirms email and we go over buying process by phone. (i.e. 14 day / 250 mile no questions asked warranty, viewing condition reports, Grades, MMR, etc. )

4:15pm 12/7 - Customer receives VIP email with access to view car details that match criteria. Customer reviews list.

7:00pm 12/7 - Customer emails a couple of VINs to us for our review. Keep in mind we do not own any of these vehicles, so we are not trying to sell you. We are trying to find reliable car that fits your needs and budget.

9:00pm 12/7 - We email client what we think of VINs that was sent over. Customer is interested in one vehicle that runs on 12/11 at auction. We decide on a maximum bid for the vehicle.

3:00pm 12/8 - We email customer an All-in Excel sheet out the door of all costs if customer is to win the auction at the maximum bid price. We verify if customer is paying bank loan or cash.

9:00am 12/11 - Call customer to verify auction and maximum bid. We ask customer if they would like to be on the line while we live bid. Customer declines.

11:54am 12/11 - Car goes through auction and we place maximum bid. We get it $200 under the maximum bid.

3:00pm 12/11 - Speak with customer about the winning bid. Customer is paying cash, so we give customer auto auction ( payment instructions. Customer sets up wire transfer and emails us necessary documents.

5:00pm 12/11 - Vehicle was won out of state and we setup transport. Transport is picked up for $200 to be shipped to customers door on 12/12.

10:00am 12/12 - Transporter picks up vehicle from auction. Tranporter arranges drop off on 12/12 at 5:00pm at customers house.

5:30pm 12/12 - Customer receives vehicle off transport truck at front door. Customer has 14 days / 250 mile warranty on vehicle. We email temporary tag to customer to put on vehicle.

1:00pm 12/13 - Customer calls us and says he just had the vehicle details and is very happy about vehicle purchase.
